How to sublimate on glass mugs
Sublimation is a process where a substance goes directly from a solid to a gas without passing through the liquid phase. It can be used to create designs or patterns on glass mugs by using sublimation ink and a specialized printer. The ink is printed onto special sublimation paper and then transferred onto the mug using heat and pressure. The result is a permanent, high-quality, and vibrant design that won’t scratch or fade over time. It’s important to use the right type of ink and printer, as well as the correct temperature and pressure settings, to ensure a successful sublimation process.
Sublimation on glass mugs involves printing a design onto a sublimation transfer paper using sublimation ink and transferring it onto the mug using a mug press machine.
Here are the steps to sublimate on a glass mug:
1.Print your design onto sublimation transfer paper using sublimation ink.
2.Wrap the transfer paper around the mug and secure it with heat-resistant tape.
3.Heat up your heat press to the recommended temperature and pressure for glass mugs.
4.Place the wrapped mug into the heat press and apply heat and pressure according to the time suggested by the factory.
5.After the time is up, remove the mug from the heat press and carefully remove the transfer paper and tape.
6.Allow the mug to cool before handling.
Note that not all glass mugs are suitable for sublimation, so it is important to check that the mug is sublimation-friendly before attempting the process.
